Grill 83 is losing its “Grill” and gaining an “eighty.”
The restaurant, is temporarily operating inside the hotel’s mezzanine while the permanent space is being renovated into Eighty3, which is also offering a new dining concept to guests. The new restaurant is expected to open Nov. 16.
Eighty3 will feature small plates of food that will allow customers to enjoy their meals as food is completed by the kitchen. For example, if the meat portion takes longer to cook, the sides will be brought out first. The smaller portions are believed to inspire customers to order more types of food with their meals. The concept, says Mohamad Hakimian, managing partner of Madison Hotel, is popular in cities like New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
“It’s still a local tradition for meals to come in courses, but ours will come to the customer at their peak condition,” Hakimian says.
While the restaurant’s seating capacity will not be drastically altered, details of the new concept are being closely guarded until it is unveiled.
Eighty3 will be open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner with brunch served Saturdays and Sundays. The menu will feature a variety of small and large plates, including appetizers, broths, artisan breads, salads and versions of main dishes.
Hakimian says it was time to shake up the restaurant and give guests something new.
“The restaurant opened with a bang, and we want to create that excitement again,” he says. “Change is good.”
